The Short Answer

Custom media walls in New Jersey start at $2,500. SEIN ME builds in four levels: the Custom TV Wall from $2,500, the Fireplace Media Wall from $3,500, the Signature Media Wall from $4,300 (our most popular), and the Full Custom Media Wall from $7,300. Lighting, finishes, cabinetry and electrical move the number from there. Very large or structural projects are designed and quoted individually.

The long answer is the rest of this page. What moves the number, and why.

Where Projects Begin

Four levels. One standard.

Every SEIN ME wall is designed around its room. These are starting structures, not products on a shelf. Choose one, then add only what the project needs.

Standard smooth painted finish included. Decorative and premium finishes are available as upgrades. Lighting, cabinetry, outlet relocation and specialty surfaces like acoustic panels or marble-look finishes are priced to your design at the consultation, so the number you get reflects your wall, not a generic average. You supply the TV, electric fireplace and soundbar unless your written quote states otherwise.

See The Difference

What each price point actually looks like

Numbers are abstract. Rooms aren't. Real SEIN builds at three of the four levels, and a labeled design rendering for the tier still waiting on its first featured build. The price buys the transformation, not just the photo.

This tier hasn't had its first featured build yet, so this is a rendering of the structure, not a photo: one smooth painted center buildout, basic TV mount, concealed wiring. Book it and the finished photos here could be your wall.

The Education

What actually moves the price

Two walls can look similar in a photo and sit $5,000 apart. These six factors are almost always why.

01

Size & proportion

Wider walls carry more framing, more material and more finishing time. A wall that runs the full width of the room is a different build than a centered feature. It should be priced like one.

Impact: the single biggest driver
02

Materials & finishes

Painted panels, slats, marble-look surfaces, acoustic texture. Each carries its own material and labor reality. Finish is where a wall earns the way it looks up close.

Impact: shifts hundreds to thousands
03

Fireplace integration

A fireplace changes the build: clearances, heat management, framing and trim all have to be engineered so the fire reads as part of the wall, not an appliance in a hole.

Impact: moves a build up a tier
04

Lighting design

Recessed LED channels are built into the structure itself, planned before the first panel goes up. It's the difference between a wall and a wall that glows at 8pm.

Impact: modest cost, outsized effect
05

Electrical work

Outlets rarely sit where the design wants them. Relocating power, feeding a fireplace and wiring lighting is careful in-wall work. Invisible, and priced accordingly.

Impact: varies by scope
06

Storage & shelving

Floating shelves, display niches and cabinetry wings add function, presence and carpentry hours. This is where a centerpiece becomes a full built-in.

Impact: scales with ambition
The Question Nobody Answers

Why does the same wall get a $3,000 quote and an $8,000 quote?

Because they're not the same wall. The difference hides in the parts you can't see in a photo. Whoever you hire, here's how to read a quote like someone who builds them.

Framing & structure

Ask: "What's behind the face of the wall?"

A real build has its own squared, anchored frame with blocking for every mounted load. A cheap one screws panels to drywall and hopes. You'll hear the difference in year two, not day one.

Electrical work

Ask: "How is power getting to the TV and fireplace?"

New outlets, fireplace feeds and lighting circuits need to be scoped and priced up front. Quotes that seem low often assume an extension cord will quietly live behind your fireplace.

Material quality

Ask: "What exactly is this made of?"

Cabinet-grade plywood and furniture-grade boards cost more than particle board. They also hold screws, weight and years differently. Same look on day one. Very different wall at year five.

Finish carpentry

Ask: "How are the edges, seams and reveals handled?"

Tight seams, straight reveal lines and finished edges are hours of skilled work. It's the difference between a built-in and something that looks placed against the wall.

Hidden wiring

Ask: "Where do the wires actually go?"

In-wall-rated cable, routed and serviceable, costs more than a cord cover painted to match. One is invisible forever; the other is invisible until you look.

Design process

Ask: "Will I see the design before you build?"

A measured design and rendering before the build costs the builder time. It saves you from discovering problems after the wall is up. Guesswork is cheaper. Once.

Warranty & accountability

Ask: "Who answers the phone in year two?"

Part of a real quote is the builder still standing behind the wall after the last payment clears. That accountability is priced in. Its absence is a discount you pay for later.

Experience with this exact work

Ask: "Show me five media walls you've built."

A general handyman and a specialist can both say yes. The portfolio tells you which yes you're buying. Specialization costs more because it's worth more.

No Surprises

What you supply, what we build

Clarity up front is part of the craft. Here's exactly where the line sits on every standard project.

You supply

  • The television: we advise on size for the room before you buy
  • The electric fireplace: we spec compatible models that fit the design
  • The soundbar or AV equipment, if wanted

We design & build

  • The complete wall: framing, structure and finish carpentry
  • Full integration of your equipment, set flush and wired invisibly
  • Lighting, electrical, mantels, shelving and every finishing detail
Beyond the Standard

When a wall becomes fully custom

Some rooms ask for more. Good.

Very wide or double-height walls, structural changes, wrap-around and non-standard layouts, expanded electrical scope, or architectural features like niches and ceiling extensions take a project beyond our standard designs.

When that happens, your wall isn't priced from a package at all. It's designed from zero and quoted to the project. That's not a surcharge. It's a different level of work.
